The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team bounced back from a 3-2 loss against Coe Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Olivet College Saturday morning in the first match of the day in the Dig Panici Classic in Whitewater. The Warhawks are 22-6 on the year and the Comets fall to 5-21.
The Warhawk offense was efficient in the contest hitting .272 pounding down 40 kills while the defense held Olivet to 23 kills and an attack percentage of just .084.Â
UW-Whitewater posted double figure kills in each set. The Warhawks notched 10 service aces in the match bolstered by five from
Tessa Weber (Pleasant Prairie/Tremper) including four in the final set.Â
Junior outside hitter
Jessica Sabey (Merrill/Merrill) led all players with 14 kills hitting .407 in the match. Senior setter
Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) assisted on 29 kills and senior libero
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) recorded a match high 11 digs.
The Warhawks wrap up play in the Dig Panici Classic Saturday at 2 p.m. against North Central.
