UW-Whitewater junior outside hitter #Caitlin Hogan# has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-America Second Team.

For the first time since 2004 the UW-Whitewater volleyball is out in the first round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament.  UW-W, ranked seventh in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll, lost to the fourteenth-ranked University of Saint Thomas (MN) 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-17).  UW-W, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament champion, ends the year 31-7.  UW-W was making its twenty-second NCAA III tournament appearance, including the last eighteen in a row.  The Warhawks won NCAA III titles in 2002 and 2005, finished second in 2000, 2001 and 2007, were third in 1995 and fourth in 1988 and 2006.  For Warhawk volleyball tournament  information, including a Saint Thomas recap and box score, see UW-W's Tournament Central site.

The 2009 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Atletic Conference Volleyball Team was released this morning. UW-Whitewater had six players earning all-conference honors.
