Women's Tennis Falls to #22 MIT and #3 Williams

The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team, ranked eighteenth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III poll, was defeated by number twenty-two Massachusetts Institute of Technology and third-ranked Williams College by identical 7-2 scores Sunday in Claremont, California.

UW-W is 11-6 in dual meets, with five of the losses coming to nationally ranked Division III opponents and the sixth to Division I UW-Milwaukee.  MIT is 11-1 and Williams College is 8-2.

The Warhawks are scheduled to play Vanguard University Tuesday, and wrap up the spring trip with a match against eighth-ranked DePauw University Thursday in California.  UW-W and DePauw met March 2 in Greencastle, Indiana, with DePauw winning 8-1.

Whitewater's next home matches are set for April 23, against Carthage College at 3:00 and Carroll University at 6:30 on the Wangerin Courts south of Williams Center on campus.
