Warhawks Win Third Straight

The Warhawks defeated the College of Coastal Georgia 8-1 Tuesday in Brunswick, Georgia for their third consecutive dual match victory.  The Warhawks, now 14-2 in dual matches, are on their annual spring trip to the east coast.

UW-W's Kalla Schaefer (Madison/Madison Memorial) and Sydney Divelbiss (Middleton/Middleton) each won their 22nd matches in singles while Annie Smith (Algonquin, IL/H.D. Jacobs) earned her 17th and Megan Kasten (Verona/Verona) earned her 19th.  Warhawk singles players never surrendered more than two games in any set.

The College of Coastal Georgia, 4-10 overall and a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), forfeited three of the nine flights.

Doubles

#2 - Lauren Aguilar (Gurnee, IL/Carmel Catholic )/Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) (UW-W) def. Beba/Holloway (CCG) 8-2
#3 - Abby Day (Hartford/Hartford)/Jessica Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) (UW-W) earned victory by forfeit

UW-W will conclude competition on their trip Thursday when they face off against nationally and regionally ranked DePauw University.  The Tigers are ranked second in the Central Region while UW-W is seventh.  DePauw is also ranked eleventh in the nation while UW-W resides in thirtieth place.

DePauw and Whitewater will also boast ranked singles and doubles competitions.  UW-W's Kalla Schaefer (Madison/Madison Memorial) is ranked second in the Central Region and will likely face sixth ranked Kelly Gebut.  Maggie MacPahill, ranked eleventh in singles in the Central Region for the Tigers, will pair with Gebut as the fourth ranked doubles team in the Central Region and will likely face the number three ranked duo of Schaefer and Bayliss.
