The UW-Whitewater women's tennis team was eliminated from all levels of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships hosted by Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, Minnesota on Friday.  The Warhawks had six singles players and three doubles teams in the competition where no team scores are kept.

Three singles players, Annie Smith (Algonquin, IL/H.D. Jacobs), Lauren Aguilar (Gurnee, IL/Carmel Catholic ), and Sydney Divelbiss (Middleton/Middleton) each won their first match but lost in the second round.  Megan Kasten (Verona/Verona), Alexandra Bayliss (Sheboygan/North), and Amy Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) all lost in the first round.  There is a consolation bracket but complete results will not be known until Sunday.

On the doubles side, the tandem of Kasten and Aguilar went 1-1 while Siemon and Bayliss matched that performance.  Smith and Divelbiss were eliminated in the first round.

The fall invite runs in conjunction with the ITA Midwest Regional and offers a forum for competition for players that are not among the top players on their team.  UW-W had nine singles players and two doubles teams compete in this tournament.

Hillary Franzen (Wausau/West) and Abby Martin (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) will face off in the championship of draw number one of the fall invite.  Each went 3-0 on Friday.  Four other Warhawks earned a first round win before being eliminated.  They were Jessica Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park), Kelsey Fitzgerald (Loves Park, IL/Belvidere North), Crystal Zhao (Hohhot, China/No. 28 High School of Hohhot), and Abby Day (Hartford/Hartford).  The remaining four Warhawks players were eliminated in the first round.

The doubles teams of Jackie Vitale (Roselle, IL/Lake Park) and Kelly Foster (Glen Ellyn, IL/Glenbard West ), along with Abby Martin (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) and Marta Kinsman (Jefferson/Jefferson), both went 1-0 on Friday and will continue their doubles competition on Saturday.
