Pete Schroeder (Ripon/Ripon) and
Shaun Davis (Edgerton/Edgerton) have been named UW-Whitewater athletes of the week for their performances at the Rex Foster Open held Friday April 9.
Schroeder finished third in the 400m hurdles in a time of 53.96. This time meets the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA division III national meet, and currently ranks as the eighth fastest in the nation for division III. Schroeder also led off the Warhawks 4x400m relay which finished 3:19.23, good for first place and fastest time in the WIAC this year.
Davis took home a pair of provisionally qualifying marks in the discus and hammer throw. Davis won the discus and improved his qualifying mark to 51.31m, the fourth best throw this season in division III. Davis also won the hammer throw with a toss 54.43m, the sixteenth best mark in division III this season.
The Warhawks next competition will be April 16-17 at the Meet of Champions in Rock Island, IL.
