Men's Basketball is in, NCAA Tourney Starts Friday

UW-Whitewater Receives NCAA III Championship Tournament Berth
 
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team has received a berth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament. The Warhawks, 22-5, will play a first round game against Defiance College, 23-5, Friday evening in Wooster, Ohio.  For more information about the NCAA tournament go to UW-Whitewater Championship Central site.
 
Wooster, 23-5, will host the second game of Friday's doubleheader, facing Grove City College, 19-8. The winners of Friday's games will meet Saturday in Wooster.
 
NCAA III tournament play continues with sectionals March 12-13, hosted by participating schools. The Division III final four teams will gather in Salem, Virginia March 19-20.
 
UW-Whitewater, the 1984 and 1989 NCAA III champion, will be making its sixteenth appearance in the national tournament.
