Hogan Named All-American

UW-Whitewater junior outside hitter Caitlin Hogan (New London/New London) has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-America Second Team.

Hogan was one of fourteen players named to the second team.  The AVCA honored players with a first, second, and third team as well as a list of honorable mention selections.

Hogan was also a First Team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference pick.  She averaged 2.73 kills per game, 0.78 blocks, and a team high 0.48 service aces.  She also had a .261 hitting percentage.  Hogan led the Warhawks to a 31-7 record, including the WIAC Tournament championship.  UW-W also earned its eighteenth consecutive National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament berth.

UW-W has had at least one player earn All-America honors in eighteen of the last twenty-two years.  The most recent, in 2007, were Carley Polk and Kate Lazotte, first and second team respectively by the AVCA, and Abby Schultz, a College Sports Information Directors of America Third Team Academic All-American.
