Siemon/Stensvaag/Smith named Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week

UW-Whitewater sophmore Annie Smith (Algonquin, IL/H.D. Jacobs), junior Amy Siemon (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South), and senior Ingrid Stensvaag (Palatine, IL/Palatine) were chosen as UW-W women's tennis athletes of the week.

Siemon earned her title by going 3-0 in week 1, receiving non-conference wins at #4 singles against IL-Wesleyan winning in straight sets (6-2, 6-0) and also at #3 singles against both Carthage and Wheaton in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) and 7-6(4), 6-2 respectively. Amy cameback from a 5-2 deficit in the first set against Wheaton to win and help the Warhawks to a 5-4 win over #18 Wheaton.

Stensvaag and Smith earned their honors by also going 3-0 in play this week in doubles. They received wins at #2 doubles against Carthage (8-0), against IL-Wesleyan (8-2), and against Wheaton (8-3). The defining point of their week was the victory over Wheaton securing the last needed point to defeat #18th ranked Wheaton.
