Warhawks Fall in NCAA Volleyball Tourney

For the first time since 2004 the UW-Whitewater volleyball is out in the first round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III championship tournament. UW-W, ranked seventh in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll, lost to the fourteenth-ranked University of Saint Thomas (MN) 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-17). UW-W, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament champion, ends the year 31-7. UW-W was making its twenty-second NCAA III tournament appearance, including the last eighteen in a row. The Warhawks won NCAA III titles in 2002 and 2005, finished second in 2000, 2001 and 2007, were third in 1995 and fourth in 1988 and 2006.
