Sanchez Named Player of the Week

Sofia Sanchez, sophomore, was named UW-Whitewater player of the week, leading the team in kills against ninth ranked Carthage with 21, a team season best and personal best. Sanchez had 11 kills versus Millikin on Friday, while hitting .455. She also had double digit kills in three of the five matches. For the week, Sanchez had 55 kills, 25 digs and 11 block assists.
Whitewater will be traveling to UW-Oshkosh to participate in the WIAC Tournament semi-finals Friday, November 6 at 5:00 p.m. and pending the results from Friday’s match, the Warhawks will advance to play Saturday, November 7. The third place match is set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday and the championship is set for 2:30 p.m. the same day.
