Brooke Trewyn (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) has been selected to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for the week of Feb. 5-11.
Trewyn, a guard, averaged 25 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 4.5 steals per game and shot 52.2 percent from the floor and a perfect 23-of-23 from the free-throw line in two games last week to help the No. 14 Warhawks to a 2-0 record.
On Saturday, Trewyn posted a career-high 31 points to go along with nine rebounds, one assist and two steals in UW-Whitewater's 83-72 triumph over UW-River Falls, a win that gave the team at least a share of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title. She finished 17-of-17 from the free-throw line in the contest, good for the third-most made in one game without a miss in program history.
On Wednesday, Trewyn registered 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a career-high seven steals, tied for the 17th-most in one game in program history, in the Warhawks' 72-60 victory at then-No. 18 UW-Oshkosh.
Trewyn was also named the WIAC Player of the Week in women's basketball.
UW-Whitewater will host UW-Platteville on Play4Kay Night at Kachel Gymnasium Wednesday at 7 p.m. With a win, the Warhawks would clinch the league title outright and wrap up the No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.
