University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball senior Brooke Trewyn (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) has been selected as a fourth team D3hoops.com Preseason All-American.

Trewyn, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's leading scorer from a season ago, is the lone player from any Division III school in the state to earn Preseason All-America recognition by the website.

Trewyn was named third team D3hoops.com All-Central Region and first team All-WIAC in 2016-17 after averaging 15.2 points and a team-high 7.0 rebounds per contest. She also tallied a team-best 68 assists to go along with 49 steals, 17 blocks and a .780 free-throw percentage.

Trewyn enters the 2017-18 season ranked 19th in program history with 912 career points. She posted seven of her nine career double-doubles last year in helping lead the Warhawks to the program's first-ever WIAC Tournament title and a bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.

UW-Whitewater opens the regular season next Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m. at Elmhurst (Ill.) before playing its home opener Saturday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. against Beloit.
