Brady Grayvold (Norway, MI/Norway) is one of 167 semifinalists in all of college football for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's William V. Campbell Trophy, presented Fidelity Investments and hosted at the New York Athletic Club, the organization announced Friday, Sept. 26.
Grayvold, a defensive back, is one of just 33 nominees from NCAA Division III and one of four from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The award recognizes the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation. Up to 16 candidates will earn a prestigious NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award, which is an $18,000 scholarship that can be used for the honorees' postgraduate studies. The recipients will be announced on Oct. 30.
The winner of the Campbell Trophy, selected from the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award earners, will be announced on Dec. 9 at the 57th annual NFF Awards Dinner and receive an additional $7,000 in scholarship money.
Grayvold, a D3football.com first team Preseason All-American, has compiled eight tackles and an interception through three games this season. In 2013, he posted a school-record nine interceptions and earned second team All-WIAC accolades.
