The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team accumulated a school record for points in defeating Hamline University 190.175-184.375 Saturday in Williams Center in Whitewater.

The team total for Whitewater eclipses the previous high by one tenth of a point, with the old standard 190.075 scored in a meet against UW-Oshkosh January 26 of this year.
The Warhawks started off the meet on a high note posting the second best score in school history on the vault to take a 47.900-43.250 lead after one rotation.
Delina Phillips (Capac, MI/) and
Siri Wischmann (Delano, MN/Delano) each recorded a score of 9.625 to share first in a three-way tie with Courtney Benson of Hamline.
Hannah Lee (Clarksville, TN/Clarksville)'s 9.6 vault was fourth in the meet.
In the second rotation, UW-W swept the top five spots on the uneven bars to total 46.775, the fifth best in Whitewater's record book.
Katie Thompson (Kingsport, TN/Sullivan South) led the way with a 9.6 followed by
Cici Talcott (Kentwood, MI/East Kentwood)'s second place score of 9.5,
Mary Kate Young (Lawrenceville, GA/Cullins Hill) was third with a 9.35 and
Jen McKiernan (Tinley Park, IL/Victor J. Andrew) and
Megan Love (Henrico, VA/Godwin) took fourth and fifth respectively in the event.
At the end of the third rotation, UW-W kept the momentum going by posting a school record on beam with a score of 47.925.
Kristen Shackleton (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln Way Central) recorded a score of 9.725, second in the school record books. She was followed by Young with a score of 9.65.
UW-W closed out the meet on the floor exercise, earning 45.575 points. Young earned the top mark for UW-W, and third place in the meet, with her score of 9.60.
The Warhawks will travel to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/NCGA West Regional meet Saturday, March 9 beginning at 5:30.
