Andy Kotelnicki has been named the offensive coordinator for the UW-Whitewater football team this season. Kotelnicki joined the Warhawk football coaching staff in January as the quarterback coach and will now replace Steve Dinkel as the offensive coordinator. Dinkel chose to pursue opportunities away from football in May.
"Andy's been a great add to our staff since arriving," Coach Leipold said. "He has experience as an offensive coordinator at two schools and I am confident that he will do a great job."
The Warhawks will kick off the 2013 season at home against Washington University-St. Louis Saturday, September 7 at 12:00.

Andy Kotelnicki has joined the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football coaching staff as the team's quarterback coach.
Kotelnicki is coming from the University of Mary, where he served as the Marauders' offensive coordinator for 2011 and 2012. In 2011 the UM offense produced the combination of a 1,000 yard rusher, the sixth in school history; the Division II scoring leader among receivers, and the number four ranked offense in passing efficiency in D2.
"We're really excited that we could attract someone with his abilities," UW-W head coach
Lance Leipold said. "He has a great knowledge of our league, he brings experience as a Division II coordinator, and his philosophy is a good fit for our program."
Prior to joining the University of Mary staff in January 2011, Kotelnicki worked at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He served as the special teams coordinator and defensive backfield coach in 2006, then switched sides of the ball to take the offensive coordinator position for 2007. He continued in that role, adding the title of assistant head coach in 2010, guiding the Falcons' school record setting offensive transformation.
His coaching career began as assistant offensive line coach at UW-RF in 2003. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in health and human performance from River Falls in 2004, Kotelnicki moved on to Western Illinois University. While earning a master's in kinesiology he worked as an assistant offensive line coach for the Football Championship Series Leathernecks in 2004, then served as the assistant special teams coach and tight ends coach for WIU in 2005 and 2006. Kotelnicki also brings experience working as part of the strength and conditioning staff at both UW-River Falls and Western Illinois.
Kotelnicki joins a UW-W program that has produced seven Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships in the last eight years, four NCAA Division III championships in that span and three of the last four years. The Warhawks have gone 79-6 (.929) in the six years that Leipold has directed the program and 121-14 (.896) over the last decade.
Kotelnicki will also be an instructor in UW-Whitewater's Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Coaching Department.
