Men's Tennis Rounds Out Spring Trip with Win

After losing a tough match to DePauw earlier Thursday, the Warhawks came back and defeated Oberlin College 7-2 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  The Warhawks improve to 11-6 in dual matches this season.

In doubles play the Warhawks swept the Yeo in all three flights.  Byron Balkin (Madison/Memorial) and Mitch Osborne (Crystal Lake, IL/Central) earned their twelfth doubles victory while the duo of Erik Scanlan (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville) and Kevin Friend (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield) earned their eighth win.  Cameron Laktash (Crystal Lake, IL/South) paired with RJ Rademacher (Deephaven, MN/Minnetonka) for their seventh win in doubles competition and they remain undefeated when playing in the third flight.

In singles UW-W got wins from Andrew Bayliss (Sheboygan/North), Andy McGlashen (Southampton, England/), Osborne and Brian Klein (Brookfield/East).  Each has now reached double digit victory totals in singles.  Balkin battled Logan Chun at the one spot but fell in three sets and Brady Porter (Madison/Memorial) retired at the fifth flight due to injury.

The Warhawks will return to action when they host Rock Valley College and Lawrence University on April 7 at the Wangerin Courts on the campus of UW-Whitewater.  The match against Rock Valley begins at 9:30 am and the match against Lawrence begins at 3:30 pm.
