Gibson, got UW-W off to a 3-0 lead while raising his record to 28-9 with the win at 165.  The Pointer's Ryan Conat evened the team score with his decision at 174.  David Dwyer (Rockton, IL/Hononegah), ranked seventh at 184 by the NWCA, began a string of five consecutive wins for Whitewater, upping his record to 20-6 while recording a major decision for a 7-3 Whitewater lead.  Adam Latella (Rockton, IL/Hononegah), now 12-3, increased the lead to 10-3 with a decision at 197.  Warhawk Corey Anderson (Rockton, IL/Hononegah), third at 285 in the national ratings, brought his record to a team best 31-3 with a decision that made the team margin 13-3.  At 125 Grant Sutter (Dodgeville/Dodgeville), a relatively new addition to the Warhawk lineup with a 5-0 record, tacked on three more points with a decision to make it 16-3.  Jake Fredricksen (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock), number six nationally at 125 with a 24-2 mark, made it 20-3 with his major decision.

Leaving three matches in the meet, that meant that UW-SP would have to win all three by fall or forfeit to win the match.  UW-SP's Jordan Kust earned a decision at 141 to pull the Pointers three points closer, 20-6.  Another recent entry into Whitewater's lineup, Cade Sarbacker (Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant), remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a major decision at 149, and Point's Ben Strobel closed out the match with a major decision at 157.

UW-W is 19-7 in dual meets.

The Warhawks have a limited number of wrestlers participating in the Blugold Invitational in Eau Claire Saturday.  UW-Whitewater will host UW-Parkside Thursday at 7:00 in Williams Center in the annual Sake Bottle match.
