Shaymus Guinn ... Honorary Warhawk Athlete

Shaymus Guinn
For the first time in school history, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has bestowed the title of "Honorary Warhawk Student-Athlete" on a person not on the roster of a UW-W team.  Shaymus Guinn, son of UW-Whitewater men's soccer coach Tony Guinn, was recognized by a certificate of recognition signed by Chancellor Richard Telfer and Director of Athletics Paul Plinske.  Shaymus Guinn was cited for "his interest in, and support for, Warhawk athletics".

"The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is especially proud of its student-athletes" Plinske said.  "They perform exceptionally well in the classroom, in our community and on the playing field. Not only are they multi-talented individuals, but above all, they are really good people. It's especially fitting to name Shaymus Guinn as an honorary Warhawk student-athlete. He is a bright, creative and talented individual who has endeared himself to our student-athletes, especially our men's soccer team. He has a heart of gold, and as a member of the Warhawk family, we stand in support of Shaymus during this time in his life" added Plinske.

"The Guinn family is very grateful", Tony Guinn said.  "We thank the Dr. Telfer, Dr. Plinske, and all of UW-Whitewater athletics."
