The Warhawk gymnastics team recorded team season bests in every event, plus the total team score, in a 184.825-181.900 win over UW-La Crosse in Whitewater Saturday afternoon. The team total is the sixteenth highest score in the UW-W record book.

UW-W started the meet on the vault totaling 46.275 but trailed after the first rotation as UW-L posted 46.600 points on the uneven bars.
Led by a 9.7 from
Allyse Dieringer (Germantown, WI/Germantown), tied for third highest in the school record book, the Warhawks recorded the tenth highest team total on the uneven bars to take the lead after two complete rotations, 92.125-90.725.
Writing their names into the UW-W record book on the balance beam,
Katrin Finch (Boise, ID/Boise) (9.45),
Siri Wischmann (Delano, MN/Delano) (9.375),
Katie Thompson (Kingsport, TN/Sullivan South) (9.225), Dieringer (9.00) and
Leah Applin (Brooklyn Park, MN/Champlin Park) (8.70) combined for 45.750, tied for the twenty-fourth highest team beam score in the Whitewater record book.
With just 1.25 points separating the two teams after three events, the Warhawks pulled away in the floor exercise with a team score of 46.950, tied for the tenth highest team floor score in UW-W history. Although two La Crosse athletes tied for the top spot in the event, the next five places were held by Whitewater gymnasts including Wischmann (9.45),
Cici Talcott (Kentwood, MI/) (9.45),
Mary Kate Young (Lawrenceville, GA/Cullins Hill) (9.40), Thompson (9.35) and
Kaitlyn Weber (Kansas City, MO/Oak Park) (9.30).
The sole all-arounder in the competition, Thompson posted her highest total of the season with a 36.875 in the four events.
Whitewater will host Winona State Friday, January 27 at 7:00 in Kris Russell Volleyball Arena in Williams Center.
