Former UW-Whitewater basketball star, Myles McKay, was selected in the sixth round of the National Basketball Association Developmental League draft by the Austin Toros. The Toros are affiliated with the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. McKay had been playing professionally in leagues in both Europe and China.

Pat Miller stated, "Being drafted is a great honor for Myles. The success he's had playing both in Europe and China has caught the interest of several NBA teams. We wish him the best as he embarks on his latest challenge."
McKay played two seasons at UW-W, leading the Warhawks to two appearances in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III men's basketball tournament. As a junior during the 2007-08 season, McKay and the Warhawks won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. In the 2008-09 season, McKay led the team in points per game and earned second team All-America honors.
