Dan Montanye (Mukwonago/Mukwonago), seeing his first extensive action after an injury had limited his time, took a pass from
Bemis Gorvego (Middleton/Middleton) with :03 left in the second overtime to give UW-Whitewater a 2-1 win at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa Wednesday night.

Loras started out fast, with Justin McCord scoring just 4:38 into the game to put the Duhawks up 1-0.
Kevin Grimstad (Hartland/Arrowhead)'s team-leading third goal of the season, unassisted, tied the match at 1-1 at the 32:18 mark.
And that's where it stayed for the rest of the first half, for the second half, through a ten minute overtime, and through nine minutes and 57 seconds of the second overtime -- setting up Montanye's dramatic goal from point blank range.
Loras missed three good chances in the first overtime, missing a header off a corner kick that went over the bar, another header on net that UW-W goalie
Matt Mikesell (Waukesha/Kettle Moraine) stopped, and a Loras shot that deflected off a Warhawk defender that went wide left.
Mikesell made two more saves in the second overtime, one on a shot from the short right angle, another from farther out and right. With one minute left in the period Gorvego knocked the ball on net but Loras keeper Dan Wickman made his sixth save of the game. Less than a minute later Gorvego was back at it, setting up Montanye for the winner.
Whitewater had 13 shots, Loras 11. The Warhawks also had fewer fouls, 12 to 20, and more corner kicks, 5-3. Mikesell made four saves.
UW-W is 3-0-1 this season. Loras is 2-2-0. Whitewater, beginning a string of five straight road games, will play at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa Sunday. The next home match will be September 29 at 7:30 with the University of Dubuque visiting Bob Fiskum Field. The field is on the north end of campus off Schwager Drive, and free parking is adjacent to the field.
