Kevin Grimstad (Hartland/Arrowhead) scored his first goal of the season, and the first in the match, off a
Logan Fye (Rockford, IL/Winnebago) assist at 24:14 for the only goal the Whitewater defense would need.
Trevor Swentik (Delafield/Marquette University HS) added an insurance tally at 46:02 on a penalty kick after being taken down in the box. It was Swentik's third goal of the season and his seventh point in the two games.
Defense was the story of the game for both teams. UW-W had just ten shots, five each half, but the Warhawk defenders were even stingier, allowing just two shots -- and only one of those was on goal where keeper
Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) stopped it.
Whitewater had five corner kicks to one for KC, and the teams were almost knotted with 13 (KC) and 12 (WW) apiece.
The Warhawks will put their goose eggs on the line again Sunday, hosting Clarke College (IA) at 7:00 at Fiskum Field. The match is the second half of a doubleheader, with the UW-W women hosting Clarke at 5:00.
