University Dining is sponsoring a free student tailgate event on Saturday, September 4 to kick-off the start of the 2010 Warhawk football season and the inaugural year of the brand new student section. "Purple Reign" is the official student section of Warhawk athletics which is taking over the previous Bleacher Creature Program. Students may join by purchasing a $5 membership, and they will receive the official Purple Reign t-shirt, membership card, opportunity to take part in pre-event gatherings, and start earning points towards a number of different rewards.

The first 300 UW-Whitewater students to join the Purple Reign student section will receive a ticket to a free tailgate which includes food and beverages compliments of University Dinning. The tailgate is being held at the Coulthart Family Pavilion and will go from 10 am until kickoff at 12 pm. The defending National Champions are facing off against Adrian College in their first test of the 2010 season.

Students interested in joining Purple Reign can contact Leah Thyne at thynel@uww.edu about purchasing a t-shirt or stop by the Intercollegiate Athletics Office located in the Williams Center, room 112. Students will also have an opportunity to purchase shirts prior to the first home game on September 4th.
