The UW-Whitewater women's basketball team put the final exclamation point on the end of another great season with their annual banquet.  The banquet was held on Sunday, April 11 at the University Center on the campus of UW-Whitewater.  The team finished the season as Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions with a conference record of 12-4.  They finished the season with a 21-8 overall record and advanced to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III tournament for the third straight season.

Several student-athletes earned awards that were voted on by their teammates.  They were:

Rookie of the year - Cortney Kumerow (Bartlett, IL/South Elgin)
Miss Defense - Kelsey Hendrickson (Monroe/Monroe)
Most Inspirational - Kelly Beese (Wausau/West) and Jamie Swanson (Fox Lake, IL/Grant Community)
Most Improved - Cortney Kumerow (Bartlett, IL/South Elgin)
Miss Offense - Nicole Bundy (Fredonia/Ozaukee)
Marty van Steenderen - Kelsey Hendrickson (Monroe/Monroe) and Heidi Sonntag (Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran)

Other awards were given based on statistics from the season.  They were:

Best Free Throw Percentage - Sonntag (86.7%)
Rebounding Leader - Chantel Burg (Hartford/Hartford Union) (175 total)
Steals Leader - Hendrickson (108)
Assist Leader - Hendrickson (110)
Blocks Leader - Kumerow (33)
Scoring Leader - Bundy (15.6 ppg)
