Luebke, Bell Named Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Jessa Luebke (Tomah/Tomah) and Ryanne Bell (Boscobel/Boscobel) were named the UW-Whitewater athletes of the week for the week of April 5-11. Each athlete earned this honor for their performance in the Rex Foster Open, held Friday April 9.

Luebke chalked up two first place finishes and a second place finish in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus, respectively. Luebke's performance in the hammer throw improved her provisional qualifying mark to 48.67m (159-8). Her performances in the shot put and discus were also season bests throws.

Bell ran the ninth fastest time by any UW-Whitewater Warhawk in the outdoor 400m dash in a time of 60.74, good for first place. Bell also ran anchor for the first place 4x400m relay. To round out the day of first place finishes, Bell led the field in the pole vault with a jump of 3.05m.

The Warhawks next meet is the Benedictine Eagle Invite in Lisle, IL on April 17.
