Warhawks Finish 16th at Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational

The final round was their best round and the Warhawks finished sixteenth out of twenty-three teams after the final day of competition at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.  The Warhawks improved on their team score in each round of the tournament and this was only the second time this season that the team has competed in a 54-hole competition.

Methodist University took top team honors by totaling 951 strokes over the three rounds.  Rounding out the top five were Illinois Wesleyan (983), Seminole State-FL (992), Birmingham Southern (994), and Berry College (1005).  UW-W totaled 1091 strokes for the weekend event just eleven shots back of fifteenth place.

The top UW-W finisher was Chelsea Davis (Greendale/Greendale) who totaled 256 strokes over the three rounds and wound up tied for 31st place.  Davis fired rounds of 82, 90, and 84 respectively.  The top overall finisher was Emily Bachert of Centre College who compiled a three day total of 230 including two sub-80 rounds.
