Women Fourth After Day Two

The Warhawk women remained in fourth place after day two of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championship hosted by UW-River Falls at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As in day one, the Warhawks best finishes came in the relays.  UW-W's 200 medley relay team consisting of Kaityln Kincade, Kristen Jahn (Wonderlake, IL/McHenry), Lisa Dlugopolski (Mequon/Homestead) and Megan Kohnke (Milwaukee/Riverside) finished fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:50.61, and fourth again in the 800 freestyle relay in 8:10.51.  Both are team season best performances.

Kohnke's seventh place in the 200 freestyle, 1:58.44, was the top individual performance.  Other top finishes came from Dlugopolski, eighth in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.17; Randi Osgood (Muskego/Muskego), ninth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.92; ninth by Courtney Jenkins (Gurnee, IL/Gunee) in the 400 individual medley in a team season best time of 4:40.40; and Kincaid's eleventh place in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.09.

Team scores after day two are UW-Stevens Point 585, UW-La Crosse 511, UW-Eau Claire 503.5, UW-Whitewater 248.5, UW-Oshkosh 151, and UW-River Falls 124.

The WIAC Championship will conclude Saturday.
