The University of Chicago opened with a technical fall to take a 5-0 lead, by UW-W came back to take the next three weight classes.
Cheston Kesselhon (East Troy/East Troy)'s pin at 174 was the first scoring of the match by either wrestler. At 184
Reid Dickerson (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) took Takumi Mihama down four times in the first period, (takedown, escape, takedown, escape ...) and four more times in the third on the way to a major decision.
Adam Latella (Rockton, IL/Hononegah) followed Kesselhon's lead, and used four takedowns in the first and four more in the third to build up his technical fall points.
Jedd Wilson (Poynette, WI/Poynette) got a takedown at 2:36 in the first and made it stand up for his decision at 125.
Dylan Schroeder (Mineral Point/Mineral Point) followed with a pin, after scoring on a takedown and near fall in the first.
Brian Lewis (Verona/Verona) scored on a takedown in the first period of his match at 141, and an escape in the third for all the points he would need for his decision. His escape came 21 seconds into the second period after he had the down position to start the second. Keegan Arthur added team points with his decision at 149, and
Cade Sarbacker (Mineral Point/Iowa-Grant) had a 9-1 lead after the first period, including a near fall, before pinning Kyle Kocher at 4:52 at 157 pounds.
Latella raised his team best record to 11-1, and Arthur, 11-3, remains tied for the team lead in victories.
UW-W is 1-5 in dual meets, 1-3 against Division III competition. Chicago is 0-4 in dual meets.
The Warhawks will participate in the Little States Tournament in Manchester, Indiana December 3-4. The next home meet will be January 21 at 7:00 when UW-Eau Claire visits Williams Center.
