Sophomore Brian Martinezdelacotera (Franklin/Franklin) and senior Joseph Schneider (Wausau/Wausau West) have been named UW-Whitewater Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Martinezdelacotera earned his honors by placing third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.77 seconds, a personal indoor best this season. He also helped the 4x400 relay team to a second place finish with an overall time of 3:23.68.

Schneider who met provisional qualifying standards in the shot put event, finished second with a distance of 15.58 meters. He also finished sixth in the 35-lb. weight throw with a distance of 16.47 meters.

The Warhawks will travel to Naperville, Il  for the North Central Triangular, this Friday, January 29, which will start at 4:30.
