The UW-Whitewater men's swimming and diving team made a strong showing by finishing second at the Point Invite hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Friday and Saturday. The 'Hawks tallied 648 points and fell short of first place UW-Stevens Point (1123 points) in the field of seven teams. UW-W recorded six season best times and had two first place finishers.

Top UW-W Finishers by Event (Men and Women)
Bill Stenavich won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:46.80 and
Andy Hanney won the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:56.59 to lead the Warhawks. Stenavich was also a fifth place finisher in the 100 freestyle (49.73). Hanney turned in a time of 4:39.51 to finish fourth in the 400 individual medley, and was a part of two 4th place finishing relay teams (800 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay).
Marcus Genrich swam a season best 2:03.78 in the 200 individual medley to finish fifth. Genrich also swam a season best time of 2:18.08 in the prelims of the 200 breaststroke. Genrich was also the top finisher for UW-W in the 100 breaststroke finishing in 1:03.29 for sixth place. He also swam a season best time for the same event in the preliminaries, 1:02.41.
Also turning in a couple of top ten performances was
Kyle Stoermer. Stoermer finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:51.45), and sixth in the 1650 freestyle (17:30.95, a season best time. He was also a part of the fourth place 800 freestyle relay team.
