Demos and Heitsman named athletes of the week

UW-Whitewater's Shelby Demos and Kirsten Heitsman were chosen as the Women's Track and Field athletes of the week for their performances in the Warhawk Opener last Friday in the Kachel Fieldhouse.
Demos placed first in the high jump with a jump of 5'6.5". The freshman broke the 18-year-old school record as well as meeting the provisional qualifier standards by tying the number one jump in the country as of January 15, 2010.
Heitsman placed first in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.84 at the meet.
The next meet will be the UW-Whitewater Invitational in the Kachel Fieldhouse, Saturday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m.
