Even though the three team meet was scored as a double dual UW-W had three performances that were the best in the water Saturday. Bill Stenavich (Brookfield/Central) recorded the best time in the 100 freestyle (49.88) and 200 freestyle (1:48.51). Kyle Stoermer (Ozark, MO/Nixa) added another "first" with his 10:27.54 in the 1000 freestyle.
Jake Christensen (Brown Deer/Brown Deer)'s 2:03.38 in the 200 backstroke was the second best time of the day, and UW-W's 400 freestyle relay was second overall in 3:20.92. That quartet included Landon Joiner (Hinsdale, IL /South), Marcus Genrich (Janesville/Parker), Stoermer and Stenavich.
UW-Whitewater will compete in the Stevens Point Invitational Friday-Saturday, January 22-23, with the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the University of Minnesota just a month away.
