The UW-Whitewater gymnastics team, ranked number one in team total, vault, uneven bars and the floor excercise according to the latest GymInfo poll, was topped by the 2009 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association champions, UW-La Crosse, 183.675-183.075 Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles flipped a 9.375 turn-around from their competition at Northern Illinois last week to top the Warhawks by just six tenths of a point.
Freshman
Annie Mix, ranked number one individually in the uneven bars, led UW-W for the second week in a row taking top honors with a 9.50. Freshman
Mary Kate Young and senior
Traci Jo Korte placed second and third for Whitewater on the bars with scores of 9.25 and 9.175 respectively as the Warhawks grabbed the top three finishes in the event.
Young also recorded the high score in the floor exercise with a 9.425. Senior
Justine Weyer won the all-around competition with a total score of 37.100.
UW-W split events with UW-L winning on the bars and floor while the Eagles took the vault and beam. The team of Mix, Young, Korte, Weyer and
Lauren Corrigan recorded a 45.700 on the uneven bars which is good for fifth in the UW-W record book.
Whitewater will travel to Eau Claire to take on UW-EC Friday, January 22 at 6:30 pm. The Warhawks will host UW-Stout for Breast Cancer Awareness and Alumni night Saturday, February 6 at 4:00 pm.
