The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men won twelve of sixteen events in the Warhawk Opener in the Kachel Fieldhouse in Whitewater, Wisconsin Friday night.

Dave Kuczynski led the Warhawks with a pair of first place finishes. Kuczynski crossed the line first in the 200 meters in 23.54 and went farthest in the long jump, 21-10.
Other Warhawk winners included
Brakken Kraker in the mile (4:28.11),
Dan Krause in the pole vault (13-11.25),
Tom Fisher in the high jump (6-6.75),
Jake Stadler in the 400 (53.08), and
Brian Gensrick in the 55 hurdles (8.06). Also
C.J. Miller in the 55 meters (6.55),
Brian Martinezdelacotera (1:23.26), Michael Lewis in the triple jump (42-8.25), and
Aron Kehoe in the 3000 meters (8:45.36). UW-W also captured the 4x400 relay in 3:30.12.
Another notable performance came from
Shaun Davis, whose third place effort in the strong weight throw field met National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III provisional qualifying standards with his throw of 55-4.75.
There were no team scores kept in the meet, which also included competitors from Saint Norbert College, Beloit College, Lawrence University and throwers from UW-Oshkosh.
