UW-Whitewater is ranked 32nd in the United States track and field and cross country Coaches Association national poll released September 30, 2009. They also moved up this past week in the midwest regional poll from eighth to seventh.

This past weekend, the Warhawks traved to St. Paul, MN and placed fifth out of the 35 teams that competed in the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. Dan Machmueller led UW-W with a 21st place finish, covering the 8000 meter course in 26:34, while teammate Joe Dixon followed close behind in 24th place finishing in a time of 26:47. Mathias Werve, Jon Fink, and Jarrod Schwichtenberg rounded out the team score for UW-W finishing 30th, 40th, and 60th respectively.

This Saturday the Warhawks will travel to Kenosha, WI to compete in the Carthage Invitational at Carthage College beginning at 2:30 pm. They will be running a partial squad.
