Warhawks Win Third Invite in Four Days

The UW-Whitewater women's golf team took first place honors for the third time in four days Monday, September 28, at the Carthage Invitational with a team score of 347. The Warhawks also won the UW-Platteville Fall Invite September 26-27 and the UW-Whitewater Invitational September 25.

Results

Whitewater's 347 didn't come easy on a very windy day with rain showers coming and going on a par 72 course playing 5,836 yards.

Team scores were UW-W 347, Carthage 350, Wheaton (IL) 351, Carthage junior varsity 369, Elmhurst 396 and Judson (IL) did not have a team score.

Chelsea Davis was the top finisher for UW-W coming in third shooting an 84 on the par 72 course. Following right behind in fourth was Emily Kuiper with an 85. Carthage's Heidi Hoffman took top honors with an 82.

Other UW-W contributors included Melanie Helgeson tied for seventh with an 87. Melissa Ellis and Gianna Tenuta rounded out the Warhawk five both shooting a 91.

Whitewater will have the rest of the week off before traveling to Stevens Point Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4 at the Stevens Point Country Club with tee times to be announced.
