The UW-Whitewater women's golf team took first place honors for the third time in four days Monday, September 28, at the Carthage Invitational with a team score of 347. The Warhawks also won the UW-Platteville Fall Invite September 26-27 and the UW-Whitewater Invitational September 25.

Whitewater's 347 didn't come easy on a very windy day with rain showers coming and going on a par 72 course playing 5,836 yards.
Team scores were UW-W 347, Carthage 350, Wheaton (IL) 351, Carthage junior varsity 369, Elmhurst 396 and Judson (IL) did not have a team score.
Chelsea Davis (Greendale/Greendale) was the top finisher for UW-W coming in third shooting an 84 on the par 72 course. Following right behind in fourth was Emily Kuiper (Racine/Case) with an 85. Carthage's Heidi Hoffman took top honors with an 82.
Other UW-W contributors included Melanie Helgeson (St. Charles, IL/North) tied for seventh with an 87. Melissa Ellis (Kenosha/Tremper) and Gianna Tenuta (Kenosha/Bradford) rounded out the Warhawk five both shooting a 91.
Whitewater will have the rest of the week off before traveling to Stevens Point Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4 at the Stevens Point Country Club with tee times to be announced.
