Madeline Roznos led the Warhawk women's cross country team at the Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota Saturday. Roznos finished 59th in a field of 500 runners, easily the largest number of participants UW-W will run with this season, as her team placed sixteenth in the field of thirty-seven teams.

Roznos, a sophomore, was timed in 24:19.1. Marie Borner of Bethel University (MN) won the race in 21:36. Roznos' time is her personal best and the best on the team this season.
Other UW-W runners included Alyssa Duncan, 94th in 24:42; Jackie Nett, 107th in 24:54; and Andrea Newman, 127th in 25:12. Also Eileen Hyland, 132nd in 25:15; Katie McCabe, 135th in 25:18; and Jen Taylor, 174th in 25:52. Duncan and McCabe both also recorded personal season best times.
UW-La Crosse won the team title with 98 points. Following in the top ten were UW-Oshkosh 112, UW-Eau Claire 117, Bethel 136, Wartburg College 154, Carleton College 174, Saint Thomas 176, Luther College 266, Emory University 278, and UW-Platteville 312.
Following Borner to round out the top five individuals were Ayla Mitchell of UW-Oshkosh in 21:49, Simone Childs-Walker of Carleton in 22:15, Anna Kraayenbirk of Wartburg in 22:30, and Linda Keller of Minnesota-Morris in 22:45.
UW-W will compete in the Carthage Invitational Friday, October 2 at 3:15. The Warhawks will host the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, October 31 at 12:00 on the course west of Kachel Fieldhouse/Williams Center.
