Warhawks Tied for 6th After Day One

The UW-Whitewater women's golf team drove, shot and putted themselves into a respective tie for sixth place after one day of golf in the 2009 Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois.

Day One Resuts

Chelsea Davis paced the Warhawks with a first round 81 which is also good enough to place her tied for tenth in the overall individual standings.  Emily Kuiper and Melanie Helgeson both finished day one tied for 37th by shooting an 85.  Gianna Tenuta shot an 86 placing her tied for 43rd and Melissa Ellis ended her day with a score of 89 placing her tied for 57th.

UW-W shot a team best this year 337, tying them for 6th with Maryville University.  Washington University-St. Louis has the overall lead with a 315.

Whitewater finishes up the IWU Fall Classis today, and will be hosting the UW-Whitewater Invitation held at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wisconsin Friday September, 25th.
