Schmidt Earns Fourth NGCA All-Scholar Honors

For the fourth time in as many years Diana Schmidt is an All-American Scholar athlete recognized by the National Golf Coaches Association for the 2008-2009 school year.

Schmidt is an accounting major with a cumulative GPA of 3.644. She has been on the Dean’s list and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll from 2005-08. Diana received the 2008 WIAC Judy Kruckman Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete Award and was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. She placed 5th individually at the 2008 WIAC conference championship, and was named WIAC First Team All-Conference in 2007-08 and Second Team All-Conference in 2005-06. She has been the golf team captain since 2007. 

The NGCA All-American Scholar Golf Teams recognize the outstanding academic and athletic achievements in women's college golf. To be awarded, a student athlete must meet the following criteria:
  1. Have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) for the entirety of their collegiate career.
  2. Be in attendance at the certifying institution for the entire academic year.
  3. Be of high moral character and in good standing at the college making the nomination. The Head Golf Coach, Athletic Director, or the Faculty Athletic Representative must certify the accuracy of the information on the nomination form.
  4. The student athlete must have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated (Division I only), 66% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated (Division II only) or minimum of 12 rounds and hold an adjusted scoring average of “95.00” or less (Division III only).
