UW-Whitewater sophomore Brooke Bell (Milwaukee/Alexander Hamilton) qualified for the finals of the 200 meters at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio Thursday. Bell's time of 24.26 was the fastest in the field and set a Don Drumm Stadium record. UW-Whitewater's Championship Central site
Bell will compete in the 200 finals Saturday at 2:45. She set the school record with a time of 23.98 in qualifying for the national meet. She has also qualified to compete in the 100 meters (11.95), with the trials set for 3:25 Friday.
Bell is joined in the meet by teammate Dana Thompson (Belleville/Belleville), who will compete in the discus at 12:30 Friday. Thompson is the defending NCAA III champion, and UW-W record holder, in the discus.
