Bell not only won both races, but also met the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III automatic standard in both races, crossing the line in 11.95 in the 100 and 23.98 in the 200.  Both are also team season best performances, and the 200 time is a UW-W record.  Bell is the sixth Warhawk woman to earn either the WIAC Track or WIAC Field Athlete of the Meet honors, and the fourth in the track category.  She is the first UW-W honoree since Kara Krumenauer, currently a Warhawk assistant coach, and Tabitha Fendrick captured the honors in 2001.  Bell was the defending WIAC champion in the 200.

Team scores were UW-La Crosse 211, UW-Oshkosh 181, UW-Eau Claire 146, UW-Stevens Point 94, UW-River Falls 78, UW-Platteville 58, UW-Whitewater 50, UW-Stout 33 and UW-Superior 6.

UW-W also picked up points with two third place finishes Saturday.  Danielle Anton was third in the 400 meter hurdles (1:04.26) and the 4x100 relay (48.67) placed third.  Both performances were team season bests.

Whitewater's 4x400 relay added to the team total with points for fourth place (3:59.05), with their time also a season best for UW-W.  Katie McCabe pitched in, finishing seventh in the 5000 meters (18.36.75), with another top time for the 2009 season.

Other top performances for UW-W in finals Saturday included Megan Peterson in the high jump (4-11.5), Sara Poppe in the triple jump (37-1), and Dana Thompson in the shot put (39-10) and discus (123-11).  Peterson's height matched the best by a UW-W high jumper this season.

Katie Wagner won the WIAC Sportsmanship Award for the Warhawks.
