Bell's 200 Among Fastest Ever in Division III

UW-Whitewater sophomore Brooke Bell met the automatic qualifying standard for the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a time of 23.98 at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference outdoor championship in Oshkosh May 2. That was just one part of her remarkable performance that helped her earn WIAC Women's Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet. She also won the 100 meters, and broke the UW-Whitewater and WIAC record in the 200. It has recently come to light, thanks to a list compiled by John Zupanc of UW-Oshkosh, that Bell's 200 meter time is the seventh fastest ever run by a Division III athlete in any meet, anywhere. Rhondale Jones of Lincoln University (PA) owns the fastest mark on the list compiled by Zupanc, with the official Division III record of 23.72 set at the 1999 NCAA III championshiip.
