UW-Whitewater's senior outfielder Amy Gahl (Beloit/Parkview) was named player of the week, along with sophomore left-handed pitcher Jessica Stang (Minnetonka, MN/Minnetonka) who was named Warhawks pitcher of the week for their perfomances.
Gahl, was named player of the week for helping her team with the WIAC Championship with a 16-0 record by sweeping UW-Oshkosh and UW-Eau Claire. In the last 5 games Gahl, hit safely 4 of the 5 games with a .500 batting average, and had a 12 game hitting streak. Gahl also had 1 double, 1 homerun, 2 RBI's, 5 runs scored, and 1 stolen base.
Stang was chosen for pitcher of the week and WIAC pitcher of the week for going 3-0 and picking up 2 saves, with 23 K's and a .27 ERA in 26 innings. Stand threw a complete shutout game, as well as a combined shutout game againt UW-Eau Claire. In addition, Stang threw a complete shutout game again Alma, MI.
