The UW-Whitewater golf team wrapped up competition at the University of St. Thomas Invitational in Becker, Minnesota on Sunday and finished seventh in a field of thirteen teams. Competition was held at Pebble Creek Golf Club, par 72, and UW-W shot team scores of 345 and 350, on days one and two respectively, for a total of 695. Chelsea Davis was the top Warhawk finisher as she shot an 84 on day one and an 81 on day two for a combined total of 165 which tied her for thirteenth place.

Final team results were as follows: Gustavus Adolphus-622, UW-Stevens Point-639, UW-Eau Claire-663, University of St. Thomas-668, College of St. Benedict-672, Carleton College-680, UW-Whitewater-695, St. Olaf College-702, Wartburg College-703, Luther College-717, Bethel University-755, Augsburg College-780, and Concordia College (MN)-785.
Three of the top five golfers were from Gustavus Adolphus; first place finisher Katie Schenfeld, second place finisher Kali Griggs, and fourth place finisher Taylor Drenttel. All three golfers shot in the 70s both days. The only other golfer to accomplish that feat was fifth place finisher Jordan Matheson of Macalester College. Rounding out the top five was Jessica Urban of UW-Stevens Point who finished third.
Competing for Whitewater along with Davis were Diana Schmidt (81-89-170), Melissa Ellis (93-88-181), Lindsay Porter (89-92-181) and Emily Kuiper (91-95-186). Schmidt's 81 on day one is nearly five strokes better than her average.
The Warhawks will hit the links again on May 2 and 3 for the Blugold Spring Invitational at Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire.
