Wiswell Wins Breaststroke with Season Best

Matt Wiswell (Monona/Monona Grove/McFarland) won the 100 breaststroke in a team season best 1:06.38 in UW-Whitewater's 147-95 loss to UW-La Crosse Saturday afternoon in the Williams Center in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

Other Warhawks that earned a first place included Kyle Stoermer (Ozark, MO/Nixa) in the 1000 freestyle (10:19.09), David Tatro (Lodi/Lodi) in one meter diving (191.95), Tyler Slak (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) in the 100 butterfly (57.05), and Matt Mintz (Hinsdale, IL/Central) in the 500 freestyle (4:56.45).

The 200 freestyle, which finished second, combined for a team season best performance of 1:28.37.  That quartet included Nate Glover (Milton/Milton), Eric Nord (Hales Corner/Whitnall), Riston Furseth (Janesville/Milton), and Adam Altenburg (Watertown/Watertown).

UW-Whitewater's next meet will be the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship February 19-21 at the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wisconsin.
