Three Warhawks Take Second at Indiana Little State Tournament

The UW-Whitewater wrestling team competed in the Indiana Little State Tournament hosted by Trine University in Crawfordsville, IN Friday and Saturday. Although no team scores were kept three Warhawks took second place honors in the tournament.
Results
Austin Bautista was 3-0 in the 141 pound weight class at the tournament with two pins before falling on a 7-6 decision to Jake Strausbaugh of Wabash College in the championship. His 3-1 record at the tournament improves his overall record to 11-2 with four pins this season.
Sean Pietrzyk faced Nick Kraus of Trine University in the 184 pound championship where he was pinned to finish second going 2-1 at the tournament. Pietrzyk's 2-1 at the tournament improves his overall record to 7-2.
James Zarate also took second for UW-W in the 285 pound weight class. Zarate was defeated by Lynn Panko of the Division II University of Indianapolis on a 5-3 decision. After going 3-1 at the tournament he ups his mark to 14-5.
Kyle Wachholder placed fourth going 2-2 on the weekend in the 133 pound weight class. Waccholder's overall record is now 6-4.
Reid Dickerson topped off the Warhawk place finishers coming in sixth with a 3-2 tournament at 174 pounds. Dickerson improves to 9-4 on the season.
Matt Schuck pinned his first matchup of the tournament and also recorded a major decision in the tournament before splitting his four matches 2-2 and is now 6-6 on the season.
The Warhawks had two competitors in the 165 pound bracket. Andrew Pettit recorded a pin and a major decision in his 3-2 record at the tournament. Adam Zeh went 2-2 in the tournament recording two pins. Pettit improves to 7-6 and Zeh moves to 8-6 on the season.
In the 157 pound bracket Andy Dieringer went 1-2 to move to 6-9 overall.
UW-W returns to Whitewater to face UW-Oshkosh Thursday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Kachel Gymnasium in the Williams Center.
