University of Wisconsin - Whitewater cross country and track and field standout Brian Butzler, was recognized in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today for his dedication to training while serving the Army Reserve in Afghanistan.

Butzler has earned All-American honors in both cross country and track and field and holds the UW-Whitewater school record for the indoor mile, 1500 meter, 4 x 400 meter relay, and 4 x 800 meter relay.  He plans to return to UW-Whitewater next month where he will pursue an education degree.  Butzler has one season of eligibility remaining in track and field and plans to use it upon his return.
