UW-Whitewater junior
Aron Kehoe (Monroe/Monroe) finished 125th at the
National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio Saturday.
Kehoe was timed in 26:53. Ricky Flynn of Lynchburg College won the race in 25:09.8. Kehoe qualified for the national meet by placing 22nd in the NCAA III Midwest Regional last Saturday.
The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was well represented at the meet. UW-Platteville and UW-La Crosse finished ninth and tenth in the team standings, with UW-Eau Claire sixteenth.
Last year
Mathias Werve qualified as an individual, finishing in 151st place. UW-Whitewater has had a national qualifier every year since 2003. They have had 55 qualifiers in the past 20 years (sixteams and thirteen individuals). UW-W has produced a total of fifteen All-American performances by eleven athletes. The last team appearance came in 2003 where UW-W finished 17th. The best team finish for UW-Whitewater came in 1999 where they finishied fifth. The best individual finish at nationals came from Jeremy Burks in 2000 where he finished seventh.
Kehoe has earned All-America honors in track, finishing sixth in the 800 meters in the 2009 NCAA III indoor track and field championship.
