UW-Whitewater, ranked nineteenth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll, learned first hand why UW-La Crosse is ranked number one Wednesday night, losing 33-6 in Kachel Gym in Williams Center in Whitewater before 817 fans.

Seven of the matches featured nationally ranked wrestlers, including the 285 class that boasted two top Division III competitors. Yewah is number ten at 133, Bautista second at 141, Mauseth first at 149, and Ferguson tenth at 165. Also Schmitz second at 174 and Moore, third at 197. Laurent, the two-time NCAA III champion at 285, is ranked number one and Whitewater's Schmidt is number eight in the same class.
Bautista, a two-time All-American, finished third at 141 in the NCAA III championship last year.
UW-W will compete in the Concordia Open in Mequon, Wisconsin Saturday. Competition begins at 9:00. The next home match for the Warhawks will be December 10 at 7:00 with UW-Oshkosh visiting Williams Center.
